Tartaglione Statement on Lottery Decision

HARRISBURG, February 14, 2013 — State Sen. Christine M. Tartaglione today released the following statement regarding Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s decision to reject the lottery contract with Camelot Global Services:

“The Attorney General used her authority to support what many of us have been saying all along—that the administration’s lottery fire sale was a disturbing overreach of his authority and, quite simply, a lousy deal for workers, seniors and supporters of open government.

Tartaglione Reappointed Labor Chair; Targets Minimum Wage

Tartaglione, recently re-appointed as Democratic chair of the Senate Labor and Industry Committee, said today she will use the position to push for changes in Pennsylvania’s minimum wage law in order to prevent  working parents from sinking into poverty.

Senator Tartaglione Hosts the 2012 Senate Disability Day

Sen. Tartaglione hosted the 2012 Senate Disability Day. This event provided all members and staff with the opportunity to experience, first hand, what it is like to have various disabilities.  Wheelchairs, walkers, vision-distorting goggles, magnifiers, arm restraints and noise canceling headphones were available to try – for a few minutes or for a few hours.
